Leveraging a proprietary suite of sensors, this tractor-based soil probe system measures a variety of variables to better inform land managers of valuable soil properties. The soon-to-be autonomous soil probe system is coupled with airborne spectral imagery to offer greater insights into the state of crops in relation to soil conditions. Helping with the development of this technology was phenomenal and rewarding.

This project required me to use the full suite of my skills, from design and fabrication to operations, logistics and lab management. I had a great time testing and maintaining equipment, reporting results to various teams and working through challenging problems with teamwork and diligence. Although the hours were long and the work was demanding, the overall experience left me with several positive takeaways that I continue to cherish today.
