Airborne Spectral Imaging
Research Turned Business
I won a $10,000 sustainability grant competition and formed an undergraduate research team in my junior year of college. Upon graduation, my team and I formed Spectral Solutions with the $2,000 prize money I won from earning second place in the 2016 University of California Carbon Slam.
From my friend's garage, we built a modified version of our original aircraft, designed to fly autonomously for multiple hours carrying spectral imaging equipment - a feat only accomplished by well-funded defense contractors at the time. Our goal was to design, build and operate an inexpensive yet effective environmental monitoring platform to improve our understanding of how the natural environment changes over time.
Today I remain involved in airborne spectral imaging systems and aspire to advance our use of such technology to gain insight about our changing planet.
